- Superjet wreckage found, impacted a steep slope, no apparent survivors
- Apparent CFIT
- Cockpit photos before the flight show the TAWS system was off

Yeah, I didn't mean that they'd done it deliberately, what I meant (sorry for not being clearer) that, had TAWS been disabled during the previous flight and then left off during this one, had they then "ducked under" as you said, that could have sealed their fate (no TAWS, descending in IMC into mountainous terrain).
